On a Friday night sometime in 1998 I went to a prayer meeting at Chris and Debbie Blaise's home. Chris and Debbie had Living Water Prayer Meetings at their home at the time and had invited my husband Chip and I to come. They told us about how they had received an oil blessing from Dave Simmons and that it blessed them very much and they thought it would bless me too.
Chris and Debbie had explained that this blessing was especially for those who had pain from their experience in COBU, and that although I hadn't been in COBU I had married someone who had been and that any hurts that affected him would probably affect me also. They said the oil blessing was extended to any who were directly or indirectly affected by the influence of COBU.
I decided to go to the Blaise's home and Dave and Cynthia Simmons had traveled from New Jersey and Tod Burros also came with them. There were a bunch of others who lived nearby in Maryland who also came that day. There were more visiting than there were seats available so some of us were comfortable on the living room floor.
Chris told Dave that I wanted to received the oil blessing, so Dave motioned for me to come closer to where he was sitting and he offered me two towels, one on my shoulders and the other in front of me. Then Dave began to pour oil from a bottle on the top of my head. Even though Chris and Debbie had explained their experience with me, I didn't expect as much oil as I began to feel being poured over my head.
Then Dave put his hand on my head and he began to pray for me. Right away he had a prophecy for me and the Lord through him spoke to me, saying, "Rend your heart." "What do you want my daughter?"
Well, after that, I thought, "What just happened?"
So, then I saw Chris Blaise, with joy on his face say that when he got oiled he didn't wash the oil out for several days.
Then Debbie said that she felt that the part Dave prophesied about "What do you want my daughter?" was for all the other women in the room, she called them sisters. (*See Note Below*)
It wasn't until much later that I understood what 'rend your heart' meant. In Joel 2:13 the scripture says to 'rend your heart, and not your garments'. When I got the understanding of that, that is when God began to do a deep work in me. The fruit of this was that I could hear the voice of Jesus better and I had more of God's peace reigning in my heart. Peace is one of the fruits of the Spirit of God.
So, I was thankful for being at that meeting, because to this day my heart rends when I'm in the presence of the Lord and I see Jesus and I hear Jesus more clearly during these times.
You might also ask, 'Why me?' Dave and Cynthia Simmons have a call of God to minister healing and restoration back to Jesus himself, to reverse the effects that Stewart Traill had on the COBU members. My husband Chip Coyne got saved in the Forever Family in the late 1970's during the Jesus Movement, so because I married Chip I inherited the disease of COBU and that is why I got oiled. This is my testimony.

Note: It wasn't until after I read Susan's testimony on this page when I found out that Debbie had made a comment to Susan on the day that she received her Oil blessing and prayers, that Debbie told Susan that she thought that the portion of the prophesy: "What do you want my daughter?" "was for all the other women in the room" ~ but I told Susan after I read it that this was not the case at all. The prophesy was just for Susan.The prophesy was spoken while Dave had his hand on Susan's head, after he poured oil over her head, and it was spoken in the singular tense: "my daughter" ~ and not "my daughter's." Almost every single time that anyone receives the Oil blessing and prayer it is usually accompanied with a prophesy for the person receiving the blessing. And almost every single time that I've witnessed this (which has been more than 70 times) the Lord God, in prophesy, asks the person receiving the Oil blessing something to the effect of "What would you have the Lord do for you (my son or my daughter)?" God wants to bless us. God asks how he can bless us. Especially at the time of receiving the Oil blessing he asks what we feel would bless us. The answer to this request is unique to the person who receives the Oil blessing ~ what matters most to that person, at that time. I have seen many receive great inner comfort during and after this Oil blessing and prayer. When I shared with Susan that this was for her personally, she said that she probably wouldn't have known what to respond at the time, but that she wanted me to make note of it here on her page ~ that the prophesy was for her, as when anyone receives the Oil blessing, the prophesy is for their own blessing.
